There are tons of piano chord books out there and more specifically on professional chords and smooth chord progressions but there is a very big problem with 98% of these resources! There is also alot of piano learning software on the same subject. Most of these so called guides are based on old school teaching techniques that have been outdated decades ago, it’s almost as if the general consensus is that you have to play for at least a couple of years before you can play decent piano. This is however not the case with some of the newer piano learning software.
I was having this discussion with one of my friends who happens to be a piano teacher the other day and we very quickly agreed that even though you couldn’t learn to play perfect piano chords in a couple of days, you could do it far faster than what the majority of people actually do just by having the right piano learning software. The problem is that people still teach and practice their piano skills and piano chords in the same way as it was done decades ago, instead of searching for newly developed techniques and piano learning software that can shorten their learning curve and are actually a lot more fun.
Personally I like studying the theory behind music but at the same time I think it is very important to focus on the most practical and hands on approach to developing your skills, either through a piano book or piano learning software. During our discussion my friend mentioned a guy named Bill Romer, apparently this guy had played the piano for 35 YEARS! And had created an immersion piano learning software on piano chords. My friend said he used this program to teach his students piano chords and that the way the program was set up, was to ensure constant development and extremely fast results.
I checked out his piano learning software as soon as I got home and just had to buy it when I say there was a 50% discount on it. I must say for someone who has been playing the piano for 4½ years I was really impressed, I had seen some of the things in this piano learning software before but he has tons of new tips and a totally new way too look at things. What I personally really enjoyed in this piano learning software was his take on the popular 3-chord progression, which changed the way I look at chords forever, and I just knew that I tip like that could only be a result of his 30+ years of experience. In essence experience is what makes this piano learning software so good.
I checked out the site and it’s still on sale, so make sure you check this piano learning book out if you have the least interest in taking your piano skills to the next level.
Btw, I forgot to mention that he has a video on his site where he actually demonstrates some chord progressions.
